ORIENTATION
Peru has three natural zones: The Costa region, the highland Sierra and the Selva.
The Costa Region, where Lima, the capital city, is located, is a thin coastal plain with a landscape varying between deserts and valleys.
At the highland Sierra you will find the amazing Andes, with peaks reaching 6.000m (20.000 ft).
The Selva – where the Amazonian jungle is to be found, has immense natural resources and is located between the Andes and the borders with Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia and Ecuador.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Peru has two completely different seasons, the wet and the dry. The best time to visit the country is during the dry season, from May to September.
